And I am a staunch U.S. Soccer supporter, but seriously, let’s put Coach Bradley in a suit and tie for the World Cup, and let’s take this stuff seriously. Come on! Every other country, including Sweden ,has their coaches in a suit and tie as if they were at there job and their livelihood / job depended on it. So come on USA, let’s try and actually win the World Cup and not just show up this year!!! It should start with the coach. This year we finally have a team that could not embarrass us and actually win some crucial games, so let’s make it happen. I believe in this team! Don’t make us in the U.S. become the Cubbies fans for the U.S. Soccer program. Make your team find the heart that they found in the Confederation Cup. That is your job Coach Bradley. Maybe if you dressed like a proper coach you would take this a little more seriously. Just a thought from an expat that now lives back where they were born and watched the U.S. barely squeak by tonight!

Re: Soccer Saturday Live Blog

I have been a U.S. Soccer fan for my entire life and have had a bit of an odd tenor…meaning that I was raised in Sweden and went to college in the U.S.A. in Boston. But you would think that he is on the bubble now - and if it came down to spot between him and Rogers he might just make the squad - but if Rogers shows well in the rest of the tournament against some stiffer competition than Grenada then he might take the spot away from Adu. So I am going to put Adu and Rogers both on the Bubble squad

Other Bubble players - Torres, Parkhurst, Klesjtian, Bornstein.

Also completely forgot about Maurice Edu - he is likely to start in Rico Clark's place.

Re: Soccer Saturday Live Blog

Thanks for the response Henry...and good points. I just want to see the
team gel
and get used to playing with each other. It seems that every opportunity to do
that (which isnt that often) ends with a new lineup with new people. I see the
point in scouting out newbies and finding newbies, but at some point, with the
few opportunitys to play in tourneys before the World Cup, you'd hope to see
your best squad and give it, and the subs on your best squad, the chance to
earn PT together. I see the Gold Cup as writing that opportunity off. I just
hope we see your lineup vs. Mexico at Azteca!

Roger
Quoting Disqus <>:

Re: Soccer Saturday Live Blog

I think if the Tournament had been on the line with this result we would have seen the same lineup as the first game. However, with two wins in the bag Bradley could afford to use this game to give a run out to players that were on the bubble - players like Robles, Cooper, and others that people have been screaming to see in the lineup got their chance. Whether they made the most of the opportunity is a topic for debate in itself, but I think players like Davies and Holden have made the most of this tournament and have earned themselves a spot on the squad, and if Quaranta has a good rest of the tournament, then he may be in the mix too.

If the world cup was tomorrow - this would be the starting lineup

-------Howard-----
Spector ----DeMerit----Gooch----Bocanegra
Dempsey---Bradley---Clark----Donovan
------Davies-----Altidore

Bench
Guzan
Cherundolo
Pearce
Holden
Rogers
Feilhaber
Ching

Re: Soccer Saturday Live Blog

Hi there!

So I just watched the draw with Haiti. Exciting finish, but I have a question/comment.

Why does Bradley out and out refuse to start a consistent line up? He is constantly tinkering, adding new players, and they just can't gel with each other that way. I don't get it. Where and what is our starting lineup????? Does anyone know?
